Some news from Pardon Supply HQ
We are soon launching our second collection. And what a rollercoaster this has been. Ralf and I have been chatting about starting something fresh and new for years now. Fun fact, we know each other through skating but only really connected during my hiatus from skating.
Ralf has always been designing, clothes, illustrations, murals, you name it. And I, I just consumed. Back in 2010 I launched a blog about fashion. That was something like TikTok, but with words. The blog was about fashion that I liked, wether it was old Take Ivy/ Prep stuff or typical streetwear Hypebeast junk. That was where our paths crossed. Ralf was working with a brand named "a Native Tourist" and they were releasing a full collection. With OurBubble (my weblog) I did some articles on all the pieces in their collection.
Later we went to all kinds of fashion shows, store openings, release parties and always said that one day would we be working on a brand together. Well that's when corporate life came in. The company I worked for wanted to do a merch line for our employees. Knowing typical merch, no employee would ever want to wear it. So we asked Ralf to do the designs for us. Yes! That was a great success. In typical corporate fashion the company got sold and the new management decided they did not want new merch. But working together on clothing like we did with that project only confirmed we needed to do something, together.
Fast forward a couple of years. Covid hits te world, I try to get my grumpy old body back in shape and ended my skating hiatus. As usual Ralf and I were chatting about the what was going on in the world. We did the regular morning coffee skate sessions, the late "kids are finally asleep" evening sessions and always discussed about what we should do. We even had a working name for the project, Pardon.
Time goes by and we finally figure out how we could sell nice clothing and gear to people from all over the world. Our biggest struggles were getting shipping and payments structures that could work with us. And in comes technology. Apparently these days you just need to mix what computers can do and what great designers can do and you can work this out.
And now we needed a name for the brand. But since we had been talking about Pardon as a working name for so long, that kinda sticked with us. And thus we decided Pardon Supply would be the brand that we would be launching.
Our first collection dropped right around Winterclash. It was for us a test to see if what we thought would work actually did work. And yes, it did. Not saying we didn't made some mistakes here and there, but as long as you learn from them it's ok. This week we will launch our "Monterey" Collection. Which we hope you will love as much as we. We stuck with our mantra that we only produce stuff we ourselves would want to wear. That being said, we are looking for more types of garments in the future as wel. But for now, we have a collection of Tees, Swim Trunks, Jackets, Sweaters. Basically anything we would buy this season.
We are still on a made by order base. So we don't keep stock. We still produce local as close to you as a customer as possible. And we try to keep our prices as reasonable as possible. Oh and if you like Corduroy caps, be sure to order the new one as soon as the collection drops, as they move crazy fast.
Signing off for now, peace, love and roll,
Ralf & Camiel
